David Dietrich is a retired United States Air Force officer. His broad understanding of world affairs and conditions is based on experience as a military pilot, intelligence officer, instructor, diplomat, strategic planner, assessor, and technology developer.

David has been an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America for over fifteen years. Building on his youth scouting skills, David has learned the importance of self-sufficiency through merit badges, such as wilderness survival, first aid, and emergency preparedness.

David has taken Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) training, special operations courses, participated in military survival exercises, performed Self-Aid and Buddy Care, and is a certified First Aid, CPR, AED, and Wilderness First Aid instructor.
