This workshop will consist of two hours of instruction: a one hour lecture and a one hour hands-on training for those that have their own equipment to participate (see list of equipment needed below).

 

In this hands-on workshop participants will learn the following:

  • How to cleanse wounds
  • Simple interrupted sutures
  • Proper suture placement
  • How to perform an instrument tie
  • Stapling
  • Removal of sutures and staples

This workshop is designed for preppers who have no medical background and with no experience in suturing or would closure.

Your instructor will be John D. Ratliff, a U.S Army Veteran and Certified Surgical Technologist. His 23 years of Operating Room experience includes the past 14 years in surgical technology education. John lives in Stewartsville Virginia with his wife Barb and two children Zane and Gracean Laine.
