Jason Matyas is a husband and father of seven, lifelong gardener, 17 year Air Force veteran with 9 worldwide deployments including two tours in Afghanistan, visionary entrepreneur, business strategy consultant, and Founder or Co-Founder of six startups, including Seeds for Generations, a family heirloom seed business he operates with his young children. Jason has gardened his entire life, and together with his wife and 7 children, they raise and preserve most of the vegetables they eat each year. They are passionate about inspiring and teaching others to grow more of their own food so that they can be more self-reliant and healthy for generations to come.
Amongst other endeavors, he is the Co-Founder of the Beyond Off Grid project, a documentary film and media project devoted to inspiring and equipping folks to reduce their dependence on the modern system and seek true freedom by returning to the old paths of productive households and community interdependence. He is currently planning the first-ever Beyond Off Grid Summit, a hands-on training event here in Craig County where you can learn how to return to the old paths by practicing the skills of self-reliance.
